A few years ago I caught the travel bug. This translated into the goal of travelling to every African country when I matched the travel bug with my passion for Africa and my constant need to hear and collect stories from those that have had a different life from mine.

To make travel consistent and easier, we set up a travel club as part of Hadithi ya Africa that organises trips to various African destinations.
Give me a destination, a backpack and a companion and I will come back with a smile on my face and stories to tell.
A few years ago we decided to turn this passion into a touring company so that others may experience the joys of African travel as we have.

hADITHI YA aFRICA
Our vision is to create a positive African self-image by encouraging Africans to understand
each other. We do this through three avenues
Storytelling, inter Africa travel and African Restoration Projects (called The Midnight Train).
The Midnight Train is a citizen-led Action group where you can initiate, champion, or support campaigns in response to disasters and continental emergencies.
We work with the most committed Midnighter to analyse pressures on our communities and structure appropriate campaigns before calling ordinary citizens into action through volunteering, donations, and campaigning
aFRICA’S uLTIMATE sTORYTELLER
The story of Africa is rich, and diverse, and lived through the many many lives of its people.
As part of Hadithi ya Africa, My personal goal is to encourage the story of Africa to be told through many voices from as diverse a background as possible. I want Africans to document their time on this continent by sharing their experiences.
This will serve as a documented oral history for the continent so that generations that follow can look back to understand their forefathers and as a result, understand themselves.
To achieve this, we run the annual Africa’s Ultimate Storyteller Contest which rewards those that tell their story for the education and experience of others.

“You took a low-cost housing unit in an unknown township and turned it into a profitable restaurant that creates local jobs and seeds economic development in the township.” That was the comment from our local councillor when we last met.
Vuma Duduza is a restaurant, takeaway, and Sunday food market by day and a vibey part of the nightlife of this little known township of Masechaba view, in the Eastrand.
It is my attempt at building a low-cost franchise from the ground up. The second restaurant is due to launch in 2022.

social investment and trade
S.I.T is an investment club with a core mandate of educating its members about saving and investing.
SIT is working up to become a fully-fledged CFI (also known as a credit union, SACCO)
We are currently invested in the stock exchange, ETFs, SMMEs, unit funds and are constantly looking at new investment opportunities.
Recently we have expanded to add “banking Services” for our members that include business funding and microloans.
Club membership is currently by invitation.

I am burdened by a life full of destructive habits; from smoking and drinking to dangerous pastimes.
My personal goal is to eliminate my bad habits and replace them with healthier ones that will extend my life long enough to see my children grow into successful well-adjusted adults.
